Since the President signed that bill into law, rent was due. Millions of Americans filed for unemployment insurance. Doctors and nurses put their lives on the line to diagnose thousands of more patients with COVID-19.

And yet families are still waiting for relief. The Treasury Department didn't have a system in place for sending out stimulus checks. Some folks may have to wait 20 weeks for their checks. Millions of Americans without banking information on file may have to wait even longer.

When the American people need their government more than ever, the Trump administration’s incompetence is on full display. And the consequences of that incompetence are devastating.

We need to get relief to the American people immediately. But instead of putting together a serious, comprehensive plan to distribute stimulus checks and other critical resources, the President put Jared Kushner in charge of the coronavirus response – who immediately called into question states’ requests for dire PPE from the national stockpile.
