Columbia Distributing collaborating with a distillery to make hand sanitizer
To make sure excess keg beer due to on-premise closures doesn't go to waste, Columbia Distributing and Pursuit Distilling in Washington have teamed up to convert it into hand sanitizer. They will be delivering the hand sanitizer they produce to the Washington State Department of Agriculture and the Washington State Department of Emergency Management. “Columbia already has a network of drivers that are hazmat certified so we can expedite our efforts in getting this essential material for hand sanitizer out to our state agencies. We’re extremely happy that we can help in such a meaningful way right now,” said Devlin McGill from Columbia Distributing.
Breakthru Beverage pledges $500,000 to COVID-19 relief efforts
Breakthru Beverage Group announced a $500,000 commitment to partner with local nonprofit organizations, restaurants and restaurant groups to purchase meals for front-line responders battling the COVID-19 outbreak and vulnerable populations affected by it. A portion of the contribution will go to the Restaurant Workers' Community Foundation (RWCF). "During these uncertain times, we have been inspired and motivated by the camaraderie of our industry. Together, we are resilient, and I am confident that we will overcome the challenges we're currently navigating through partnership," said Greg Baird, President and CEO of Breakthru Beverage Group.
Fed announces program to provide $2.3 trillion in support for economy
