This week, we watched a chaotic scene unfold in Wisconsin after Republican legislators refused to postpone Tuesday’s primary despite being in the midst of a global pandemic.

Voters who hadn’t already cast absentee ballots – an “overwhelmingly black and Hispanic population” – were forced to choose between risking their health or voting. In Milwaukee, there were only five polling sites open out of the usual 180 locations, causing long lines with hundreds of people in close contact.

Now in Georgia, we’re being faced with our own threat to democracy. The Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, announced he’s launched a task force to “investigate any voting fraud that arises from widespread use of mailed-in ballots in Georgia’s primary.”

We know that voter fraud in Georgia is not an issue – but voter suppression is. The Democratic Party of Georgia put it best when they said that the task force is “state-sponsored voter intimidation.”

Back in 2018, we watched as voter irregularities and suppression swayed the gubernatorial election. Stacey Abrams’ narrow loss and the corrupted politics that fueled it, in part, inspired me to run for the U.S. Senate.

Now, I’m feeling more fired up than ever to safeguard our democratic process and end voter suppression. But in order to fight for Georgians in Washington, I need your support to power our campaign.

Will you chip in whatever you can by midnight tonight to help us reach voters across the state? As the Democratic frontrunner, Republicans are pouring money into this race in an effort to defend this seat and their Senate majority. We need all the support we can get.
