We'd bet your first thought wasn't to cut a political attack ad.

"Liberal groups have dropped more than $20 million into advertisements attacking President Donald Trump and Republicans on coronavirus, a sign that the pandemic will play a central role in November's presidential election." [Read the full story from the Washington Free Beacon.]

But that's not the case for some liberal groups, which have now spent more than $20 million on attack ads against President Trump and other Republicans over the coronavirus response -- as the Washington Free Beacon reported.

We've said it before, and we're sad we have to say it again: this is the time for our country to come together to face our common challenge ... not to score political points! It's shameful that some groups would try to use the coronavirus pandemic to advance their political aims.

And, in these uncertain and unprecedented times, we wish for your continued health and safety and that of your families and your communities.

The Democratic primary is effectively over. Congratulations, Joe Biden!

"Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) dropped out of the Democratic presidential race, paving the way for former Vice President Joe Biden to win the 2020 nomination." [Read the full story from The Hill.]

Conventional wisdom is now reality as Bernie Sanders dropped out of the 2020 Democratic primary today. Though Joe Biden won't be the official nominee until the Democratic National Convention this summer, he'll still be able to transition to a general election campaign before then.

The easiest explanation is that the media will always criticize President Trump and his Administration.

"These news outlets, who are now complaining about not enough press briefings under Grisham, are the same ones that routinely criticize President Donald Trump for his constant coronavirus task force briefings." [Read the full story from The Federalist.]

President Trump's press secretary moved this week to a new role as the First Lady's Chief of Staff. Obviously (we can agree it's obviously, right?), the media criticized Stephanie Grisham, the outgoing press secretary, for the lack of press conferences held during her tenure.

And of course, as this piece in The Federalist points out, this comes at the same time the media is criticizing President Trump for his daily updates to the nation on the coronavirus response.

We think there's a simple explanation: the media will always criticize President Trump, no matter how many or how few times he speaks with them.

As always, we recommend that you watch the Trump Administration's daily updates on the coronavirus response, which will be live at 5pm Eastern today. Though some TV networks don't carry it, you can see it for yourself on the White House's social media accounts or on the White House's website at WhiteHouse.gov/live.

And for some good news in these uncertain times...

"Rep. Ben McAdams (D-Utah), the second lawmaker on Capitol Hill to test positive for the coronavirus, says he is now 'virus-free.'" [Read the full story from The Hill.]

Both Congressman Ben McAdams and Senator Rand Paul have announced that they've recovered from coronavirus -- and we are grateful for that good news! Rep. McAdams was the second Representative and Sen. Paul the first Senator to test positive for coronavirus.

And, as the Lexington Herald Leader reported, Sen. Paul -- an ophthalmologist -- is now volunteering in support of a local Kentucky hospital.

We continue to wish for the health and safety of you, your family, and your community at this uncertain time. Stay safe and we'll see you later this week!
