Dear John,

My latest blog post is now live on our website in celebration of this very merry month of May!

Will you protect local biodiversity and take part in #NoMowMay? I am! What’s more, I’m excited to share with you this amazing video, taken in my own garden this week of a bee absolutely laden with pollen collected from a single dandelion flower which we have allowed to grow instead of mowing our lawn. Supporters all over the world are doing likewise. Please check out the blog to see real live mantises in Australia! #NoMowMay is just one of our Spring Actions for biodiversity

May is National Walking Month in the UK. Wherever you are in the world, will you consider a sponsored walking challenge for Population Matters this May? It really is the easiest way to have a sporty fundraising challenge. It's recommended that we walk 10,000 steps a day. That roughly equivalent to 8km – will you walk 8km for 8bn for Population Matters? Please check out our other Spring Actions for fundraising,in addition to #WalkThisMay, on our website.

Other Spring Action fundraising activities you could undertake this month include our Big Spring Plant, Big Spring Sort or our Pop a Bun in the Oven fundraising packs.

As a Spring Action for Population Matters, would you consider making a donation or joining us as a member from £2.50 per month or £30 per year?

I’d love to hear more from you. Please reply to this email with any steps - walking pun intended! – that you are taking for biodiversity this month. Please share with us photographs of the wildlife you have protected by taking part in #NoMowMay or if you take a #WalkThisMay for Population Matters.

Wishing you a happy and healthy May!
