John, acknowledging mental illness doesn’t make you weak; it makes you human. When we speak openly about it, we give others permission and courage to also speak openly and promote healing. That’s why I’m committed to being open about my own struggles while fighting for legislation in Congress that expands access to mental health care and improves resources for teens.
This month and always, don’t forget to be kind to your fellow humans. You never know what someone else is going through.
