Dear Taxpayer, 

I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of great urgency and moral significance. 

For nearly two decades, taxpayer dollars have been allocated to purchase heartworms at TRS Labs in Georgia, where at least 771 innocent beagles endure unimaginable suffering. 

These dogs are subjected to intentional infection with heartworm larvae, resulting in months of agony as the parasites ravage their hearts and lungs.  

The eventual fate for these animals is grim: slaughter, with their hearts harvested for profit (courtesy of our tax dollars). 

Taxpayer, we cannot stand idly by while such cruelty persists.  

We must take immediate action to stop payout #5R01AI047194, which would perpetuate this cycle of abuse. 

The cost of these experiments is not only measured in dollars—it comes at the expense of lives and moral integrity. Since 2001, $6.1 million of taxpayer money has been allocated to sustain this egregious practice, despite the availability of effective treatments for heartworm. 

I urge you to join us in our mission to end this senseless suffering. By supporting our efforts, you can help us prevent further funding to TRS Labs and advocate for the release and rehoming of the survivors.
