I've spent my life fighting for Ohioans and for the Dignity of Work – the belief that hard work should pay off for everyone, no matter who you are, where you live, or what kind of work you do. The belief that no one should have to work a second or third job just to get by. The belief that folks who play by the rules deserve to retire with dignity.

When we fight for workers, we fight for all people. So whether you punch a time clock or swipe a badge, you work for tips or for a salary, you're raising children or caring for an aging parent – I promise to fight for you. 

But I'll be honest: I can't win this fight alone, friend. I'm facing my toughest reelection yet, and I need your grassroots support to help me defend this seat. That's why I'm personally asking: Will you pitch in $5 or more now so we can win in Ohio, protect our Senate majority, and keep fighting for the Dignity of Work?

I grew up in a community of ironworkers, carpenters, autoworkers, and electricians. But I watched as jobs were shipped overseas, savings were lost, and hopes for a comfortable retirement were dashed – all as health care and prescription drug costs skyrocketed. I'm running for reelection to tackle these critical issues and make sure that our country not just recognizes – but celebrates – the Dignity of Work.

But here's why I'm worried: Experts at CNN say that I'm one of the most vulnerable senators up for reelection, and Washington Republicans are launching misleading attack ads against me. I'm a TOP target for defeat, because the battle for Senate control could all come down to what happens in Ohio. So, I have to ask:

Please, friend, can I count on you to chip in $5 – or any amount that is meaningful to you – so we can win this race and defend the Senate for Democrats?
