John,

You won't believe this... but three days ago our Governor opened the beaches and lakeshores back up across Georgia! Just as local coastal communities were establishing strong physical distancing protections, they were forced to roll those back because of this new statewide order. [link removed]

Georgia's Governor, Brian Kemp was late to act, and because of that, we are seeing warnings from medical workers around our state about preparing for a "super surge" in hospital bed demand in the coming days. Where is the leadership? Why are our elected officials not heeding the best advice from the health care and infectious disease specialists?

Now we are seeing the extreme importance in who we choose to lead our communities and help guide us during dire times of uncertainty and danger. Who we elect matters, especially now, in the midst of this global pandemic. We are at a point where the very real effects of this current administration and the major importance of having local leaders who can act are clear. It is our local officials who are stepping up and taking charge of our security needs.

I was joined by many leaders here in DeKalb, and who I serve with on the DeKalb Board of Health calling for a stronger lockdown approach over two weeks ago.

We need leaders at all levels who will listen to scientists, heed public health expert warnings, and take bold action to save lives and save our economy. That is exactly what I need your help to do - help me win my election for the Super 6 DeKalb Commission on May 19th.

Your donation is going directly into our voter outreach right now. Ballots are literally being mailed out this week!

Every few dollars we raise is another voter we can contact before they return their completed ballot. Help us get out the vote. Help elect strong leaders at all levels of government in 2020.

Let's start with the DeKalb Commission on May 19th.

Thank you,

- Ted
