BOC is a paid opportunity for young people (high school and college-age) in Vermont to learn about grassroots organizing, political changemaking, and electoral campaign work. This eight-week program will take place from Monday, June 17, 2024 - Monday, August 13, 2024, and requires a commitment of 10-15 hours per week.

In 2022, Congresswoman Becca Balint became the first woman and first LGBTQ person to represent Vermont in Congress. The Balint campaign set out to change politics: From the ground up, with courage and kindness. Our organizers had thousands of conversations with Vermonters, recruited hundreds of volunteers, and organized in every county in the state.

We built a community of people dedicated to Vermont and we built grassroots power that enabled a queer middle school teacher to become Vermont’s first congresswoman. But big cultural change doesn't happen with just one campaign, or one election cycle. We need to keep showing up and do the work every year, in every community. We need new decision-makers at the table, and that starts with the folks who work on campaigns.

BOC trains the next generation of organizers so that we can elect the next generation of leadership in Vermont.

If you’re interested in joining the BOC this summer, click here to apply by the newly extended deadline of May 10! [[link removed]] You do not have to be based in Vermont to apply, but must be willing to relocate to Vermont for the summer.

Team Becca
