john,

Trump’s legal team is trying to defend the former president during his trial in New York this week, twisting their arguments in knots to minimize his crimes and attempts to dismantle our democracy.

Meanwhile, Trump’s MAGA allies in Congress and on the campaign trail are still supporting him through all his legal troubles. Apparently, the insurrection on January 6, the near-constant election denial, and the 88 criminal charges he currently faces aren’t at all disqualifying. In fact, they’re doubling down on their support.

I feel a little bit differently about it:

Donald Trump was a terrible president. He should not be president ever again. But he’s going to try anything and everything he can to make it back to the White House — using the legal system, the stacked Supreme Court, his lap dogs in Congress, and every maneuver possible to do it.

john, I’m doing all I can to keep Trump out of power for good. Please chip in to support my work today >> [[link removed]]

Call me old fashioned, but facing 88 criminal charges seems pretty bad, especially for a former president. Trump is a danger to our democracy and our freedoms. And we need to take him seriously as a threat.

Thanks for doing your part to defeat him.
