Hello John — we’re just five days out from the end of April, and we’re pushing hard to meet our $170,000 goal for the month. If we’re going to meet it, we need folks to step up.

But first, I’d like to take a minute to explain why our campaign is in your inbox so often.

Hitting every single fundraising goal is critical to ensuring we can fully fund the voter outreach efforts that our team has planned for the next six and a half months. We know that this election could come down to just a handful of votes, so we can’t risk missing connecting with a single undecided voter.

What do we have planned? Well, it starts by meeting folks where they are, face to face. That means knocking on doors across the state and hosting events where I can talk to voters directly.

We’ll also be reaching out virtually and through the mail. This summer and fall, our campaign will make huge investments in TV and digital ads, direct mail pieces, yard signs, and more. We’re budgeting down to the last dollar for these expenses — and if we fail to raise what we’ve planned, we’ll be forced to cut back.

Polling shows me in a dead heat with my extremist Republican opponent. This campaign will be won or lost by a handful of votes. We can’t afford to miss any of our internal budget goals because failing to hit our monthly projections translates into budget cuts in direct voter outreach.
