Dear Friend,

Early voting starts today, and North Carolina Republicans have an important choice to make in the Lieutenant Governor run-off election. The winner will face off against Democrat Rachel Hunt whose primary reason for running for office, according to her, is to promote abortion. We have endorsed Hal Weatherman over Jim O’Neill as the family values candidate for the Republican run-off.

Hal Weatherman makes his values known as a supporter of the unborn, a proponent of parental rights and school choice. Hal will continue Mark Robinson’s legacy of fighting against obscenity and indoctrination in schools and has traveled to all 100 counties talking to supporters about the importance of election integrity, economic prosperity and safer schools. A transparent candidate, Hal Weatherman is open about his faith and pledged to support the pro-life movement’s next steps to providing even more protections to unborn children.

Jim O’Neill, an attorney from New York and current Forsyth District Attorney, has not revealed his positions on abortion, parental rights, or even education on his website and has made sparse public appearances. Even the news media has noticed O’Neill’s public positions on “hot button social issues – gay marriage and abortion – weren't found either.” We just don’t know where he stands.

According to the group Christians Engaged, “Americans who call themselves born-again Christians only vote on average 2% more than the general public.” People of faith must vote their values to protect innocent life, religious freedom, election integrity and God-given parental rights.

As the President of the Senate, the Lieutenant Governor is the tie breaker on legislation. The position comes with a powerful voice, influencing policy. Hal Weatherman, the only candidate speaking for our values now, will also speak for our values after elected.

iVoterGuide has evaluations of both Weatherman and O’Neill for the primary run-off, where Weatherman was rated as Conservative and O’Neill, who failed to answer the survey, was rated as Conditional Conservative.  You can learn even more about Weatherman on this recording of the NC Values’ Lieutenant Governor forum (O’Neill did not respond to the forum invitation).

Run-offs typically have a low-voter turnout. We ask you to make voting in this election a priority, and to share this email with family, friends, and church members.

Early voting for the primary run-off starts TODAY, April 25th, and ends at 3pm on May 11th. Election day is May 14th. We strongly encourage you to get out and vote early for the conservative in the race, Hal Weatherman.

PS: If you support our year-round work getting pro-values conservatives elected to local, state, and federal office, and then equipping them to pass pro-values legislation, would you consider making a needed donation towards the costs of our election efforts?
