Wholesale Beer Distributors of Texas donate $60,000 to TX Restaurant Relief Fund
The Wholesale Beer Distributors of Texas (WBDT) and its members donated $60,000 to the Texas Restaurant Association’s TX Restaurant Relief Fund to support independent restauranteurs and their employees. “With the current state of the industry we serve, everyone is hurting, especially our on-premise restaurant partners… if we continue to band together during tough times, we’ll come out an even stronger and more unified industry,” said WBDT Board Member Val LaMantia of L&F Distributing.
Maryland beer distributor started a GoFundMe for bartenders
Murray Gornall, owner and president of Western Maryland Distributing Co., started a GoFundMe campaign called the “Bartender/Server Relief Fund” intending to raise $100,000 for service industry employees. He kicked off the effort with his own contribution of $5,000. Gornall noted that service industry workers are some of the hardest hit financially by the pandemic and that they need our help. “These are the people that have supported our brands,” he said of the retailer partners that work with his family owned company.

Reports say Amazon Prime Day being delayed to August
Typically held in July, Amazon Prime Day, which was launched in 1995, offers online deals to Prime membership shoppers. In the past, Prime Day has brought in more sales than Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined. However, due to the current pandemic, the company is planning to postpone it until August.
