“Minnesota and other Democratic-led states lead pushback on censorship. They’re banning the book ban”
– Washington Post

John,

In the first half of the 2022-23 school year, there were over 1,400 instances of attempted GOP book bans based on ideology across the country.

I say this as a former teacher: Book bans have no place in our schools and libraries, and they certainly have no place in our democracy.

Let me be 100% clear: Our commitment to making Minnesota the best state in the nation for children means increasing access to books, not censoring them.

I’m fighting alongside our DFL leaders in the legislature to pass a bill to ban book bans in Minnesota and ensure all children continue to have the opportunity to read freely. But we need your help to keep the pressure on.

John, will you add your name to help us send the unmistakable message that Minnesotans of all backgrounds stand against Republican book bans? According to our records, we’re still missing you.
