Folks, I am outraged that the Arizona Supreme Court chose to revive an 1864 law making reproductive care a felony, including in cases of rape and incest.

We can’t take on the anti-choice crusade without a strong Democratic majority in Congress. If you’re as angry as I am, I hope you’ll pitch in to help keep NV-03 blue and bolster our fight for women’s rights.

I'm utterly heartbroken for Arizona women whose fundamental freedom to make decisions about their own bodies has been ripped away. I’m saddened that Arizonans will face life-threatening consequences as a result. And I’m worried about what this means for Nevadans.

The bottom line is that neither this decision, nor any other anti-choice attacks, will prevent abortions. It merely makes them less safe, forcing women to flee their home states for states like Nevada. In fact, Planned Parenthood clinics in Las Vegas have seen a 37% increase in out-of-state patients, with long wait times at clinics across the West.

I’m leading legislation to help women find and access reproductive care. The situation will only get worse unless the protections of Roe v. Wade are guaranteed by federal law.

I won’t rest until that happens. But that day will come sooner if we’re all working together.
