In just the first few months of 2024, almost a thousand children and teens have already been wounded and over 400 have been murdered by gun violence.

The loss of even one innocent child to gun violence is tragic, and every day, I worry more and more that this is becoming normalized.

Political inaction and the gun lobby have allowed gun violence to become an epidemic in our country.

To say it doesn’t have to be this way is a gross understatement, friend. But we have to keep fighting for commonsense gun safety reforms if we want to make sure that parents burying their children because of gun violence doesn’t become normal in our country.

The good news is that you and I are not alone. Even policies demonized by the extreme right, like comprehensive background checks, have the support of more than 90% of Americans. 

That’s why I know we can win the fight for gun safety if we all work together and make our voices heard.
