It's your last chance to register for The NYIC's annual authors' event, An Evening Read, on Thursday, April 18, 2023 from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm ET! We're bringing together celebrated writers whose work illuminates the immigrant experience.

In-person tickets are sold out, but virtual tickets are still available. We can't wait to see you there!

Join us virtually!

The event will showcase four award-winning authors: Karla Cornejo Villavicencio, Aya Ghanameh, and Nawaaz Ahmed. You won’t want to miss this insightful and intimate conversation, moderated by NYIC Member Organization leader, Whitney Hu!

Whitney Hu (she/her) serves as the Director of Civic Engagement and Research at Churches United for Fair Housing and is a community organizer based in Sunset Park. Previously, she held roles as the Director of Public Programs for the National Book Foundation and as the Marketing & Communications Director for the Strand Bookstore. Additionally, she serves as the Publications Chair and board member for the Feminist Press. She played a role in co-founding South Brooklyn Mutual Aid and South Brooklyn Sanctuary, a pro se legal clinic, where she currently serves as the Board Chair.
