As Colorado’s Attorney General, my job is clear: listening to all Coloradans, fighting for consumers, and protecting our freedoms. And I’ve been busy getting that job done.
Over the last year, I visited 19 different communities to hear from Coloradans on the pending Kroger-Alberton mega-grocery market merger. Their message was clear: this merger will cost them money and jobs, and they wanted me to fight this merger. That’s what I am now doing in court.

I’ll continue standing up for consumers, just like I did when my office held Wyatt’s Towing accountable, recovering $1 million for consumers and when we took on a major landlord property management company, which took advantage of renters, and got $1 million returned to those tenants.
This is all part of our overall effort to stand up for consumers and stop businesses from ripping them off. That work has recovered more than $400 million in refunds, restitution, credits, and debt relief for Coloradans.
But our work doesn’t end there. Our work protecting Colorado includes a focus on the opioid crisis. We recovered $770 million for Colorado—and counting—by holding Big Pharma accountable for knowingly pushing addictive and deadly opioids. In fact, our community-based system for distributing these funds was judged to be the best in the nation—noting our complete transparency and our efforts to keep 90% of funds at the local and regional level.
We’re also taking on the youth mental health crisis, suing Meta for harming young people and investigating TikTok for its harmful conduct. And we are bringing back $32 million because we took on JUUL. Now, we are using those funds to help prevent young people from vaping and abusing other substances.
And, finally, I am working hard to advance public safety, including arguing at the U.S. Supreme Court to defend Colorado laws that protect stalking victims, and pushing for new laws to prevent domestic violence. I’m doing everything in my power to address rising gun violence, pushing for new gun safety laws at the legislature, defending them in court, and implementing our State’s red flag law. We are also driving an effort to recruit more law enforcement officers and improve their training, putting emotional intelligence, empathy, and emotional awareness at the center of their work.
