Eric's Property Tax Plan Making News
Last week, we released an ad ([link removed]) on our plan for property taxes for Hoosiers. Our property tax plan aims to provide property tax stability and relief to all Hoosier homeowners, allow seniors to stay in their homes, and protect local services like police and fire protection. Here's what the media is saying:

Indianapolis Business Journal Newsletter ([link removed]) : Doden proposes capping property taxes for seniors as Primary Election Day looms

A new proposal from gubernatorial hopeful Eric Doden takes aim at property taxes for senior Hoosiers, as unveiled in his most recent ad released on Thursday. Doden, a businessman from Fort Wayne, pointed to the sharp percent increase in property taxes in recent years as home prices surged during the COVID-19 pandemic. Doden is calling for a cap on property taxes for seniors, as well as a property tax relief fund for some seniors.

Indiana Capital Chronicle ([link removed]) : Doden gubernatorial proposal aims to freeze property taxes for seniors

According to an analysis by the Association of Indiana Counties and Policy Analytics, the gross assessed value of homes jumped 16.5% on average between 2022 and 2023 and property taxes increased by 18.2% on average.

“Let’s rein in property taxes and cap them for seniors. So they can stay in their own homes where they belong. That’s good for everyone, except the career politicians,” Doden said in the ad. “They’ve proven they can’t fix the problem, but I will.”

Indiana Legislative Insight ([link removed]) : As daffodils bloom and Hoosiers start to receive their property tax bills in the mail, Eric Doden releases a timely new TV spot outlining his plan to rein in property taxes by strengthening property tax caps for seniors so they can continue to live in their own homes. He shares what his campaign says is a constant concern he has heard on the campaign trail: "facing historic property tax hikes and inflation while living on fixed incomes is making home ownership unaffordable for far too many Indiana seniors."
