Hi John, I’m Lauren, Colin’s finance director.

I know you're busy, but I really don’t want to have to deliver bad news to Colin on his birthday, so I had to reach out.

Yesterday, Aly shared with you that we set a goal to get 20,000 supporters to chip in before the end of the day to give Colin an extra special surprise for his birthday, just ahead of our mid-month deadline.

This was a HUGE goal to set, but right now, we're 8,476 donations away from reaching it, with just a few hours left before we deliver him the news!

With this race neck and neck in the polls, your donation today could help us reach enough Texas voters to take the lead against Ted Cruz.

So, on Colin's birthday, will you make your first $5 donation or ANY amount right now to help us hit our goal and let Colin know 20,000 people stepped up to surprise him?!

Reaching these goals are critical to ensuring we have the resources to reach enough voters to win, and today we get the added benefit of putting a smile on Colin's face on his special day!

Thanks for helping us make Colin’s birthday a great one,

Lauren
Finance Director

Subject: Help me wish Colin a happy birthday!

Colin Allred for Senate

Colin and Aly

Hi John, it’s Aly, Colin’s wife. Tomorrow is an important day for our family and the campaign.

It is Colin’s 41st birthday!! 🥳

Colin's team shared with me that they want to surprise him with a very special update that they've received 20,000 donations before tomorrow's mid-month goal, and they asked me to help.

That’s why I’m personally asking: Will you help me give Colin an extra special surprise for his birthday tomorrow by chipping in $5 or more to make your very first donation if you can?!

Colin and I first met in law school when we were assigned to review each other’s papers. From becoming fast friends to serving in student government together, his resilience and determination always stood out to me, and I knew even then his dedication to public service would remain constant.

That is what made me fall in love with him. Like me, he believed that the law should be used to build a world where everyone has the opportunity to chase their version of the American dream. And, like me, he was determined in his pursuit of change.

So when Colin and I talked about running for Senate against Ted Cruz, I knew right away that he was the best person for the job. Throughout our time together, I’ve seen how hard he has fought to build a better world, taking the fight for progress from the courtrooms to the House – and soon, to the Senate.

I know I can count on him as a husband and a father – and I know that from the moment he’s sworn in, you’ll be able to count on him, too.

John, the closer we get to Election Day, the clearer it is that Texans don’t just want change – we need it. That’s why these deadlines weigh so heavily on Colin, because he knows what it’s going to take to defeat Ted Cruz, and he can’t afford to fall behind by a single penny.

Will you donate $5 or $25 before the end of Colin’s birthday tomorrow and be one of the 20,000 supporters we need to join us to give him an extra special surprise ahead of his mid-month deadline? Hitting this goal will take a load off his mind and help him relax on his birthday – not to mention getting us one big step closer to winning this race and bringing real leadership to Texas.

I know how much Colin's supporters mean to him, John. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being a part of this team.

– Aly
