Ahead of Tax Day, Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan Urge Minnesotans to File for Child Tax Credit

Governor Walz speaks to press in the Minnesota State Capitol
This week, Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan urged Minnesotans to file for the Child Tax Credit before Tax Day on Monday, April 15. Over 360,000 children have already benefitted from the credit, with families receiving an average credit of $2508.
*?Our nation-leading Child Tax Credit puts thousands of dollars back in the pockets of working families to help put food on the table, pay for child care, and afford unexpected medical bills,?* said Governor Walz. *?I urge all Minnesotans to file their taxes before April 15, so they can claim the benefits available to them. This is one of the ways we?re taking a weight off families? shoulders and making it easier for parents to raise happy, healthy kids.?*
*?Nearly 300,000 Minnesota households are eligible for the Child Tax Credit we signed into law last year, and we want to see 100 percent of eligible families benefit from it,?*?said Lieutenant Governor Flanagan.?*?Our tax credit provides economic stability, helping form a foundation of safety and security for families. I?m grateful for the volunteers across the state who are helping Minnesotans file their taxes and claim these benefits.?*

Governor Walz Secures $16 Million for Highway Safety Projects

Governor Walz speaks to press on Highway 14 in Southern Minnesota
Governor Walz announced that Minnesota secured $16 million in federal funding to improve safety on Highway 11 near Loman and I-94 between Moorhead and Alexandria. The funding comes from President Biden?s Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
*?This funding will help us address critical repair and maintenance needs on our highways and improve safety for all Minnesotans who rely on them,? *said Governor Walz.* ?Once again, President Biden?s Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is delivering for Minnesotans and improving our infrastructure.?*

Governor Walz Congratulates Christina Bogojevic on Her Appointment as Chief of the Minnesota State Patrol

Governor Walz congratulated Interim Col. Christina Bogojevic on her appointment as colonel of the Minnesota State Patrol. Bogojevic has been with the State Patrol for more than 20 years and has served as second in command since December 2022.

On Monday, Governor Walz attended a grand opening celebration of Upsher-Smith under Bora Pharmaceuticals of Taiwan.?Upsher-Smith has a diversified portfolio of pharmaceutical products with manufacturing facilities in Plymouth and Maple Grove.
*"We?re making our state the top place to do business. Companies like Taiwan-based Bora Pharmaceuticals are taking note and investing in Minnesota,"* said Governor Walz.
