On Tuesday, the Arizona Supreme Court reinstated a Civil War-era abortion ban.
This law is beyond inhumane. It criminalizes doctors and doesn’t make any exceptions in cases of rape or incest. It’s a complete violation of a woman’s most fundamental rights.

Our opponent, who cheered the overturning of Roe v. Wade and paved the way for this decision, is now trying to act shocked by the ban.
Ciscomani released a statement calling on Arizona legislators to “fix this” — but has done absolutely nothing to protect Arizonans’ abortion rights himself. This should come as a surprise to no one, given that he has voted to restrict reproductive freedom across the country multiple times in Congress.
Democrats in the Arizona Legislature tried to repeal the 1864 ban this week — but the Republican leadership cut them off and adjourned for the week.
The cowardly behavior and inaction of GOP leaders is a disgrace to every Arizona woman.
