Lots of us have memories of going ‘Down The Marshes’! Join us in the new Central Library on Carrington Street to discover more about the history of The Marshes with local historian Chris Weir.
The Marsh Forum is a partnership between Nottingham Local Studies Library, Nottinghamshire Local History Association, Nottingham Civic Society and The Thoroton Society. This is the first of a regular programme of talks throughout the year.
Tickets are free, but booking is essential.

Come to Central Library to see our popular Broad Marsh exhibition and explore the fascinating history of the area in which the new Central Library now sits. Using photographs, maps and other material from the Local Studies collection you will find out how the area has evolved over the last 200 years, from residential area to the current Green Heart regeneration scheme.Â
The exhibition is free to view during Nottingham Central Library opening times and will be up until the end of June 2024.
