** Will you join the Global Day of Action for Burma’s political prisoners?
------------------------------------------------------------

Dear John

The number of political prisoners in Burma is up by almost 1000% compared to the previous military dictatorship. More than 20,000 political prisoners are currently detained by the Burmese military.

When was the last time you read about them in a newspaper or on the TV news? Burma’s political prisoners are being forgotten. On 21st April you have a chance to help change that.

21st April is Blue Shirt for Burma Day, when people all over the world wear blue, the colour of prison shirts in Burma, to help raise awareness and make sure Burma’s political prisoners are not forgotten.

Last year people in Burma joined the campaign wearing blue even though it risked them becoming a political prisoner themselves.

What you can do:

Put the date in your diary now.

On 21st April wear blue, tell friends, family and work colleagues why, and if you use social media post pictures of yourself explaining why. Use the hashtag #blueshirt4burma.

You can also buy the blue shirt for Burma campaign t-shirt to raise awareness and help fund the campaign for their release. It’s available here:

Men’s ([link removed])

The is the one day of the year when everyone comes together for Burma’s forgotten political prisoners. Please join us.

Thank you

Amy Rosenberg
