Dear John:
In the middle of the deadly coronavirus pandemic, Trump’s EPA is making it easier for polluters to poison our air, our water, and our communities. Sign our petition to tell the EPA to put people over polluter profits.
In America’s sacrifice zones—primarily Black, Brown and Native poor and working class communities where polluters concentrate their dirtiest refineries, power plants and toxic dump sites—people have been suffering from asthma, kidney disease and cancer for decades. As a result, they disproportionately vulnerable to COVID19.
On March 26th, Andrew Wheeler, the head of Environmental Protection Agency, announced that his agency will take no action against violations of basic air and water protections for the duration of the COVID19 crisis. That's outrageous.
Allowing polluters to spew more toxins will exacerbate the suffering and death toll from pollution and COVID19. This is a cruel, cynical, and unneeded attempt to put polluter profits before public health. We have to fight back.
Add your name to our petition demanding that Donald Trump immediately order EPA Administrator Anthony Wheeler to reverse this murderous rollback of basic public health protections.
Sincerely,
Lois Gibbs
