Good afternoon, I'm Larry Grisolano, the Senior Advisor for the Schools & Communities First campaign and I have a huge announcement to share ...

I am proud to announce that the Schools & Communities First campaign has submitted more than 1.7 MILLION signatures of support to qualify for the November 2020 ballot, which is the most signatures ever submitted in California for a ballot initiative!

Support and enthusiasm keeps growing for Schools & Communities First because Californians know our communities need support for things we all value like smaller class sizes in our schools and clinics, hospitals and emergency rooms we can count on when we need them.

Schools & Communities First will invest in our teachers, who are rising to the current crisis by providing virtual lesson plans and instructions, and looking out for students' well-being under the most difficult circumstances. Our kids are counting on our support to receive the world class education they need.

Schools & Communities First will also make investments in communities to help plan for the prevention of and responses to future crises like infectious outbreaks, threats to clean drinking water, wildfires, emergency responses, and other challenges.

California's future is at stake. That's why we're counting on every single one of our supporters stepping up in the months to come to help us out by donating, volunteering, and sharing why they are backing our campaign.

Thank you for all your support so far, even in the face of unprecedented challenges, now let's keep this momentum building through November's election!

The Schools & Communities First initiative reclaims $12 billion every year for California’s schools and local communities by closing commercial property tax loopholes benefiting a fraction of corporations and wealthy investors. The initiative benefits residents and small businesses by exempting homeowners and renters from any changes while implementing new tax relief for small businesses.

Paid for by Schools and Communities First - Sponsored by a Coalition of Social Justice Organizations Representing Families and Students. Committee major funding from:
