In his March 7th State of the Union address, President Biden proclaimed that “…the state of our Union is strong and getting stronger” – if he talked to the average American on the street, however, he would find out rather quickly that things are not as rosy as he thinks they are. Consider a recent survey revealing that one in eight retirees plans to return to work this year because of how the president’s inflation catastrophe has upended their financial security. The average monthly payments on a new home soared north of $3,300 in the third quarter of last year – a 90% increase since late 2020. And, let’s not forget that Americans are spending $1,000 more per month than they were just three years ago. Do you believe you’re worse off now than before President Biden took office?
If you had answered “yes” to that question, look at what I’m going to share with you next. A national survey conducted by Fox News shows that more than half of voters say that they are worse off compared to 2020. In that same study, 73% of respondents rated the economy as negative. Nearly 70% of respondents also rated the president’s performance as negative. Now, these results are not shocking in the slightest – they confirm what we already know to be true. My point in sharing this data with you is that it helps build a very strong case as to why the president’s wrecking ball of an economic agenda is decimating the economy, and the financial stability of countless Americans and their families, more than many may think.
Something else worth paying attention to is how the White House and Democrats in Congress have stopped using the phrase “Bidenomics” when describing the president’s economic agenda. According to reporting from Axios, the use of this term by the White House and Democrats in Congress has been on the decline since the middle of last year. Now why exactly do you think that is? It’s because Americans understand that “Bidenomics” is a dismal failure, and they refuse to have the wool pulled over their eyes. Today, Jared L. Perry, a Major in the United States Marine Corps, an exemplary North Carolinian, and proud native of Ashe County will retire after 16 years of service to our nation. His record of service is both admirable and respected. Recently, I took to the House floor to recognize Major Perry’s service, and to commend him on his unwavering commitment to advancing and safeguarding the values and freedom that make America the greatest country in the world. The entire Nation thanks him for his service and sacrifice, and we are forever grateful.

ICYMI: The Investigation Continues
Recently, I sent a letter to Rutgers University President Jonathan Holloway, Rutgers Board of Governors Chair William E. Best and others requesting documents and information regarding Rutgers University’s response to numerous antisemitic incidents on its campuses and its failure to protect Jewish students, faculty, and staff. Here’s a short excerpt:
“The Committee on Education and the Workforce (the Committee) is investigating Rutgers University’s response to antisemitism and its failure to protect Jewish students. I have grave concerns regarding the inadequacy of Rutgers’ response to antisemitism on its campuses. … Rutgers stands out for the intensity and pervasiveness of antisemitism on its campuses. Rutgers senior administrators, faculty, staff, academic departments and centers, and student organizations have contributed to the development of a pervasive climate of antisemitism.”
