I used assault weapons in the Army. I was in combat. I have rushed towards gunfire. So I say these things with full confidence:

Assault weapons belong in battle, not our neighborhoods.

Kevlar belongs in combat gear, not kids' backpacks.

Guns should be in the hands of vetted, responsible owners – not just anyone with some cash.

Our streets, schools, movie theaters, houses of worship, and homes should not be battlefields.

So imagine my outrage when Brian Fitzpatrick single-handedly BLOCKED commonsense gun legislation last summer that would have banned assault weapons (like the one involved in last month's Levittown mass shooting) and required universal background checks.

We do NOT have to live in a country where the #1 cause of death for kids is gun violence. Where it is easier to get a gun than an abortion. But we won't change that with Brian Fitzpatrick in Congress.

That's why I'm asking for your support. Fitzpatrick has a huge war chest and takes corporate PAC money. I'm relying on grassroots donors like you to power my campaign. Pitch in $10 or whatever you can to help me defeat him.

Thanks for being in this fight with me as my co-pilot,
