Dear John,

This week (March 30–April 5) marks National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week ([link removed]) , a time to raise awareness and shatter myths among teenagers about the seriousness of drug abuse and addiction. During this time, we want to acknowledge Allied Against Opioid Abuse’s (AAOA) partners and their important work to educate individuals on the rights, risks, and responsibilities associated with prescription opioids.

AAOA recognizes the importance of distinguishing myths from facts and works with its national partners to provide informative resources to key populations about prescription opioid safety. In collaboration with our partners, we have developed online resources and national initiatives to raise awareness about the safe use, storage and disposal of opioid medications. These include:
* AAOA-NCL (National Consumer Toolkit) Consumer Toolkit ([link removed]) , highlighting facts about opioid medications to fill a knowledge gap and prevent misuse before it occurs;

* AAOA-HealthyWomen Toolkit ([link removed]) , bringing together resources tailored toward women, with the goal of educating them in their role as consumers and caregivers; and,

* Pledge to Pause Initiative ([link removed]) , working with the Physician Assistant (PA) Foundation to remind PA students and providers of the importance of engaging with and educating their patients every time an opioid is prescribed.

To learn more, check out our blog post ([link removed]) on National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week and visit AAOA’s resource page ([link removed]) .

AAOA looks forward to continued collaboration as we encourage communities to raise awareness about prescription opioid safety.

Thank you for your continued support. Be well.

Sincerely,
Allied Against Opioid Abuse
