I’m delighted to share AEI’s 2023 Annual Report <[link removed]>. Our scholars made significant strides last year in advancing the ideas and promise of the American Dream. While there is no shortage of pessimism in today’s conversations, AEI remains a xxxxxx of freedom and a voice of hope as we shape policy debates through fact-based research and analysis.

Inspiring Love for the American Dream
Through special projects like the American Dream Lecture Series and “We Hold These Truths: America at 250,” AEI scholars are demonstrating how the exceptional story of our nation has endowed the American people with hope and opportunity on a scale unlike any other in the history of humanity.

Advancing Civic Education and Free Speech on College Campuses
In response to the growing intolerance and ideological conformity on college campuses, AEI scholars are championing free speech and open inquiry and offering alternative approaches to mainstream curricula, such as by promoting schools of civic education. Our students—and the institutions they inhabit—deserve no less than the best we have to offer.

education.
Shoring Up America’s Peaceful Presence Around the World
Russia, China, and Iran have formed a coalition against democracy, jeopardizing peace and prosperity as they tighten their grip on power and
intimidate the free world. AEI scholars are illuminating this network of hostility and formulating strong foreign policy solutions that safeguard freedom where it’s most threatened.

Igniting Our Engines of Opportunity and Economic Growth
AEI’s Economic Policy team is exploring practical policy solutions to unleash the full weight and force of the American economy. By embracing free enterprise, limited government, and entrepreneurship—key principles that define AEI’s vision—our economists are working to alleviate economic hardships for vulnerable Americans and secure opportunity for those who work every day to build a better life for themselves and their families.
