This Quarter, we are proud to honor Bob McFarland

** Welcome to the 2024 First Quarter edition of The Moran Minuteman.
------------------------------------------------------------

This quarterly newsletter is our way of recognizing extraordinary efforts in the First Congressional District of Texas and providing an inside look into what happens behind the scenes in the life of a Congressman.

** Thank you
------------------------------------------------------------

What an honor it is to represent the First District of Texas as your United States Congressman for a second term! Thank you for entrusting me to continue serving East Texas for another two years in Washington, D.C. The confidence you have shown in me is truly humbling.

Being a Member of Congress is a responsibility and not a right. And, I know that when I cast a vote, it's not my vote. It's your vote! Thank you for allowing me to be the voice of 767,000 individuals across Northeast Texas, representing 17 wonderfully unique and beautiful counties. I will continue working hard to get bills passed that positively impact East Texans, our Republic, and this world. It would not be possible without the support and encouragement of each of you.

Thank you for your prayers and overwhelming support - I am so grateful!
Sincerely,
Nathaniel Moran
Congressman, First District of Texas

** Presidential Endorsement
------------------------------------------------------------

Many of you know that I withheld making public endorsements before the Texas Republican primaries—from the very top of the ticket to all of our important local races. But, now that Super Tuesday has concluded and the Texas Primary date has passed, it is imperative that we coalesce behind our Republican nominees and make sure they get elected in November. The very fate of our Republic depends on it. This year, the choice is clear: We can either elect a President who wants to give more power to the government, supports left-wing social policies that run contrary to the very fiber of our country, shows weakness on the world stage with our enemies, believes that there is a two-tier justice system, weaponizes government against ordinary people, is willing to spend like a socialist using other people’s money, and undermines the very sovereignty and security of our nation by promoting open-border policies. Or, we can re-elect Donald Trump, who has proven that he wants to give more power to
individuals rather than the government, is willing to stand strong against all enemies—foreign and domestic, will appoint federal judges who are true to the Constitution, who supports law enforcement, who has a proven track record of reducing the regulatory and tax burdens on small businesses and everyday working families, and who is willing to do what it takes to protect the sovereignty and security of our nation by securing the border. The choice is clear to me, we need the latter, not the former. We need to re-elect Donald Trump as the next President of the United States.

While President Trump was in office, his policies resulted in more individual freedom, lower taxation and regulation, a thriving economy, and a secure border. Our country needs to return to these policies. So, join me in supporting and voting for President Donald Trump this November!

** Congratulations to our First Quarter Minuteman - Bob McFarland
------------------------------------------------------------

When I think of East Texans, I think of the Minutemen of the Revolutionary War ([link removed]) . Loyal to country and community, dependable, selfless, and ready at a moment's notice, the Minutemen were American heroes who helped turn the tide of the Revolutionary War. Today's East Texans reflect those traits. You are patriotic, dependable, and deeply committed to making our communities better.

Each quarter, I will recognize an East Texan who has gone above and beyond in serving our region - someone who epitomizes the identity of a Minuteman. In addition to recognition in the quarterly newsletter, we will send the person a Moran Minuteman t-shirt.

This quarter's Minuteman, Bob McFarland, is a retired Lieutenant from the U.S. Army and a Harvard University graduate. He began to serve his city and county after retiring to Mount Vernon in 2000 after a career in finance. He serves as the Adult Leader in Leaders of Tomorrow, a leadership program for Mount Vernon High School Sophomores and Juniors. Bob also serves as a Merit Badge Counselor for the Boy Scouts, a member of the Board of Directors for the Pure Hope Foundation, and as President of the Franklin County Industrial Foundation.

In his spare time, he serves the environment having installed close to two hundred wood duck boxes free of charge for local residents. Bob's life characterizes servant leadership. While others retire to relax, he retired to give back through working as a volunteer.

Thank you, Mr. McFarland, for your service to our country and for your dedication to our community. It is an honor to recognize you as the 2024 First Quarter Minuteman.

Do you know an East Texan who would be a great next recipient? Please submit their name here ([link removed]) .

Our Moran Minuteman team will also be out and about serving at community events and in disaster relief efforts. Look for us, and we’ll toss you a t-shirt!
