Illinois beer distributor partners with a local distillery to make hand sanitizer
GrantView Distillery in Illinois switched over to producing sanitizer that will be donated to first responders in the community. To help out the effort, local beer distributor LaMonica Beverages supplied out-of-code beer that will be made into hand sanitizer. Carly LaMonica of LaMonica Beverages said, "donating to the community is important to them, and it's important to us too. We live here, and we're in this community all year long, it's important for us. So we hopped on the opportunity. It wasn't even a question."
Walmart is taking extra measures to protect their employees during the pandemic. They announced that they will begin taking the temperatures of employees when they report to work. Any worker with a temperature of 100 or higher will be asked to stay home or seek medical care and won't be able to return to work until they're fever-free for at least three days. Walmart has also ordered masks and gloves for employees to wear during shifts.
Deemed as essential services by the government, FedEx and UPS are experiencing disruptions due to COVID-19. Recently, FedEx and UPS both announced that they are suspending their service guarantees and that customers can expect some shipment delays.
