Board of Commissioners Public Hearing April 8th on Comprehensive Plan Preferred Alternative

Kitsap County has been updating its Comprehensive Plan with the active participation of the public, community groups and stakeholders since early 2022. The Kitsap County Planning Commission has reviewed alternatives included in draft documents released in December 2023.

To accommodate growth, these documents proposed revisions to urban growth areas, rural rezones, building heights, allowed densities and other major policies. The Planning Commission recommendation on a Preferred Alternative can be viewed at kcowa.us/kitsap.gov.

This recommendation, and the three draft alternatives presented in the Plan documents released in December, will be considered by the Board of Commissioners at their April 8th evening hearing.

This meeting offers both in-person and virtual attendance and will be held:

Public testimony will be taken on the recommendation and alternatives for Board consideration. Time allowances for individual verbal testimony is limited and written testimony is also recommended.
