Folks, we’re only a few days out from our end-of-quarter deadline — our first public fundraising milestone since my Republican hedge fund executive challenger entered the race. She has already poured half a million dollars into her own campaign and has the full support of Mitch McConnell and his extreme allies. Republican mega-donors and groups will be looking closely at her FEC report, and if she has a strong showing, they will consider New Mexico a strong flip opportunity to invest in. Soon after, they will inevitably start flooding New Mexico with attack ads in an attempt to misrepresent my record, flip this seat, and take back the Senate Majority. If Democrats lose our majority, making strides toward investing in quality education, growing our healthcare workforce, and conserving our lands and our waters will be an uphill battle. That’s why we need to bring in as many individual contributions as possible before Sunday to show that our grassroots campaign has the power to win — but as of this afternoon, we’re falling behind on our goal.
