John,
First, I hope that you are safe and well.
Normally, March is Membership Month at the National Wildlife Federation. And while tonight is the deadline of our matching gift campaign to support our vital wildlife conservation and advocacy programs, it’s a very different deadline day than in past years due to the unprecedented events of the COVID-19 crisis.
But as the world faces the crisis of a pandemic, another threat is emerging that could impact wildlife and people alike. A shocking proposal in front of the Environmental Protection Agency could drastically limit the available science that federal decision-makers are able to use. This would come at a huge expense to wildlife and the environment, with key pollution standards going unenforced. This is not the time to turn away from our principles.
Now, more than ever, this is the time to commit to science and to protect our vulnerable communities. It is the time to continue delivering educational content that connects students with wildlife and a conservation ethic. It is the time to remember that even as many of us are being asked to shelter in place and keep a safe distance from others, that there is a whole world outside and that when we’re acting to save wildlife, we’re helping save ourselves as well.
That’s why I’m asking you to double your impact for wildlife and make a matched gift before midnight tonight. Here’s how your gift will support our vital work to create a future where people and wildlife will thrive:
- Support grassroots conservation and education programs in communities across America
- Defend and promote policies that support wildlife and the air, land, and waters we share
- Help vulnerable species and their devastated habitats recover from the brink
Please donate before our midnight deadline to our Membership Month Matching Gift Challenge. If you donate before midnight tonight, the impact of your gift will be doubled.
Thank you for all that you do to support our work, and please be healthy and safe.
