    In their Ahead of Print article, Kara Zivin of the University of Michigan and coauthors examine nationwide trends in perinatal mood and anxiety disorder (PMAD) diagnoses among privately insured people between 2008–20.

     

    They determine that during this period, diagnoses increased by 93.3 percent.

     

    People in all age, race/ethnicity, and geographic categories experienced growth in PMAD diagnoses between the pre-ACA era and the post-ACA era, with the largest increase for Black people (55 percent).
