In this year’s Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides in Produce EWG exposes the alarming rise in pesticide residues on pears. 95% of conventional pears tested positive for pesticide residues, and a single sample contained 18 different pesticides. Learn more below.

Pears aren’t the only produce item with a pesticide problem. 90% of blueberry samples were contaminated with pesticide residues, including pesticides linked to cancer and nervous system harm. Learn more now!

Pesticides on blueberries - Phosmet: Toxic to the human nervous system and found on 10% of blueberries. Neonics: Bee-killing pesticides found on 35% of blueberries. 90% of blueberries have pesticide residues. Up to 17 different pesticides can be found on a single blueberry sample.

Spinach came in second on this year’s Dirty Dozen™ list. 76% of spinach samples tested positive for permethrin, a neurotoxic pesticide banned in Europe.
