Now that we’re past Illinois’ primary election, let’s get into the weeds a bit and talk about the state of the race in our fight for the 14th district and House control.

Amid special elections and GOP House incumbents resigning left and right (who can blame them!), there are fewer seats left for Democrats to win back the Democratic House majority. We’ll say that again — we are that much closer to winning back the majority.

Colorado Congressman Ken Buck abruptly resigned last week, which will cut House Republicans down to 218 members. Democrats have 213.

That means House Republicans cannot afford more than two members crossing party lines in order to pass legislation — their majority is barely holding on. 

At this rate, they may lose those last two seats on their own. But that’s not a sure thing — and we can’t afford to leave it up to chance. 

We must be proactive and ensure regaining control of the House is certain. John, we know exactly what it will take to flip the House blue:

1️⃣ build grassroots support 
2️⃣ support Lauren’s reelection and 
3️⃣ make the most of every day between now and November 5

You may have guessed, this is where you come in. You, and each member of this team, play one of the most critical roles in this election. Without your dedicated support, Lauren’s campaign wouldn’t exist and our chances of winning back the House would be slim to none.
