Friend, when I look at this photo of my mom, I think about how much she sacrificed to give my family our American dream.

When I was 14, my mom made the courageous decision to leave our home in Ecuador and bring my sisters and me to America. She wanted so badly to give us an incredible education, access to affordable, high-quality health care, and a better life. And she was willing to do anything to make that happen.

When we first arrived in America, my family lived in a small one room apartment. My mom worked hard to pay the bills in those early days, working double shifts as a home health aide, taking English classes at night, and still making time to be an incredible, supportive mom.

I eventually started working at a local doughnut shop in the mornings before school began to help make ends meet. But she never once let our financial difficulties get in the way of my education. She brought us to America to get a chance at a better future, and that started with a strong education.

Because of my mom's sacrifices, her bravery, her support, and her unyielding hope, I was able to graduate high school and college, find a career giving back to my community, and eventually become the first South American immigrant ever elected to Congress. Today, I'm my mom's primary caretaker, and I'm so grateful that I can live with her and give her the care and comfort she deserves after doing so much for my family.

But there are so many other moms out there who are still struggling to pay the bills, give their kids a shot at a better life, and win their American dream. And every day, that dream is looking further and further out of reach.

That's why I'm running for Senate: to give those families the leg up they need. I'll fight tirelessly to make housing more affordable, increase access to high-quality health care, give more kids the chance to get a college degree, and so much more.

Please, if you believe that every family deserves a fair chance at winning their American dream, will you make a donation now to help me flip this seat blue and fight for working families in the Senate? This is going to be one of the closest Senate races in the country, and I'm counting on your help to win.
