It's an honor to serve you in Congress. Each day, I work to address your concerns and protect our liberties. From helping you navigate federal casework to advocating for your priorities, my team and I are always here to help. Delivering For Our Communities Delivering for our district is my number one priority. Since my first day in office, I have worked hard to ensure that South and West Texas gets its fair share of federal resources. That is why I am proud to announce new funding for several local projects across TX-23. These initiatives will improve quality of life, public safety, and economic development in rural areas—places that Washington often forgets. Stay tuned, new community developments across TX-23 are on the way! Banning Sanctuary Policies Communities across America are fed up with open border policies, yet sanctuary cities have made it EASIER for illegal aliens to hide from federal law enforcement. In many cases, these individuals have criminal records and pose a direct threat to public safety. This week, I led my colleagues in urging the Biden administration to demand cooperation between sanctuary cities and ICE. Criminal aliens need to be detained and deported—no exceptions. To read my full press release, click here. In addition, I recently voted YES to pass the Laken Riley Act in the House of Representatives. This bill requires ICE to arrest and detain illegal aliens like Laken Riley’s murderer. I will continue to hold the Biden administration accountable for their negligence at our southern border. Laken Riley, 22 years old, was murdered by an illegal alien last month. Honoring Our Military Leaders I spent 20 years in the Navy and retired as a Master Chief, I proudly wear my service on my sleeve and will always honor my fellow servicemembers who do the same. Their courage and sacrifice for our freedoms will never go unnoticed.
