World-Wide Threats at the Border

This week, FBI Director Christopher Wray gave hair-raising testimony during a House Intelligence Committee hearing about world-wide threats — including an ISIS presence — at our southern border.

It’s no secret terrorist organizations like ISIS are taking advantage of the Biden administration's weak border policies and refusal to enforce our nation's laws. That's why — for months now — I’ve been asking the administration to brief Congress on the threats FBI Director Wray warned about. They have yet to provide that briefing.

As the previous chair of the Homeland Security Committee and a former prosecutor charged with securing the Texas border, I take Director Wray's testimony about "very dangerous threats" at our border extremely seriously.

President Biden must start listening to his FBI director’s warnings and use his presidential authority to close the border TODAY. But he refuses to do so because the last thing he wants to do is admit the prior administration — President Trump — was right.

Another Breakthrough in My Afghanistan Investigation

For months, I've been conducting a thorough investigation of President Biden's failed withdrawal from Afghanistan. It's crucial Congress determine exactly what went wrong in order to hold those accountable responsible and ensure nothing like this ever happens again.

After months of pressure, two of the United States' top generals during the withdrawal have agreed to testify before my committee. The former Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley (Ret.), and former Commander of U.S. Central Command, General Kenneth McKenzie Jr. (Ret.) will join our hearing this week, titled "An Assessment of the Biden Administration's Withdrawal from Afghanistan by America's Generals."

Tune in here at 12:00pm CT this Tuesday, March 19th, to hear what the generals have to say.

TikTok: A CCP Spy Balloon Inside Your Phone

On Wednesday, I was proud to join 352 of my colleagues in voting for H.R. 7521, the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act. This bill will force Bytedance — a company aligned with the Chinese Communist Party — to sell TikTok or face a ban in the U.S.

As I've said for years now, TikTok seriously jeopardizes our national security and poses an enormous threat to our nation's youth. The application is an inconspicuous form of CCP surveillance, acting as a spy balloon in millions of Americans' phones. TikTok collects detailed data on users’ locations, browsing history, and even keystrokes, which the CCP could then use for blackmail, influence operations, and other nefarious purposes.

I'll continue fighting to protect Americans from CCP espionage and propaganda, and I urge the Senate to pass this bill and send it to President Biden's desk immediately.
