You may have noticed the dog in the photos at the top of every email – that's Vince Neil (yes, named after the lead singer of Mötley Crüe).

Vince was my dog from 2011 to 2021, when he passed away from old age. And what bonded us most is we were both scrappy underdogs.

Vince Neil was rescued on the side of the road, likely after living in the woods for years. We called him a "retired cowboy" because of it. One veterinarian even found BBs embedded in his chest. What he'd all gone through before I adopted him, we never knew.

I grew up bouncing around Southeastern Pennsylvania, sometimes pouring water on my cereal because we didn't have money for milk. I joined the Army for stability and as a way to pay for college.

Vince and I both managed to find stability and a comfortable life as adults. But in this race, I'm still the scrappy underdog.

I'm up against a well-connected incumbent who rode his brother's coattails, takes money from corporate PACs (I don't), and rolls over for MAGA in the hopes it keeps him in power.

If you believe we need more underdogs and fewer pampered show dogs in Congress, please pitch in $10 or more to my campaign. Every dollar gives us a fighting chance!
