Friend — I just got back from a press conference with the Governor about his new energy policies, and I am so excited about what they could mean for Pennsylvania's clean energy future!

Will you join us and the hundreds of Pennsylvanians already taking action to thank Governor Shapiro for making these first steps to achieve bold climate action? [link removed]

Hi —

Huge news – Governor Shapiro has released a slate of major energy policies that could be a game-changer in the climate fight.

Pennsylvania is one of the five worst states when it comes to the amount of clean, renewable energy that’s used to power our homes and businesses. Governor Shapiro's proposal would increase that to 35% by 2035.

He also is moving forward with plugging abandoned gas wells that emit dangerous methane, helping hardworking families that are struggling to pay for their electric bills, and recommending investments in underutilized technologies like hydropower and geothermal.

We haven’t agreed with everything Governor Shapiro has put forward, but these proposals will reduce air pollution and protect our kids’ health, protect against the effects of climate change, and create family-sustaining jobs that can't be outsourced. If we are loud enough and show the governor that these initial proposals have massive support, the more likely we’ll see him taking bold action in the future.

Please join me in sending Governor Shapiro a message thanking him for announcing this negotiation and moving our Commonwealth forward: [link removed]

Our Commonwealth has witnessed the effects of climate change firsthand – the historic severe weather and record temperatures we have recently experienced have left a lasting impact on our communities. Those impacts are even more severe for Black, Brown, and low-income communities that have been consistently overlooked in building resilient infrastructure.

Passing this legislation is essential to ensure that Pennsylvania is able to successfully compete for the clean energy jobs of the future. We must not lose momentum as other states and nations lead in growing clean energy industries like wind and solar.

This action on energy standards is so important in moving us forward towards the clean energy future that will help mitigate the effects of climate change and protect the planet for all of our children and grandchildren.

The more folks Governor Shapiro hears from, the more big actions like this he will take. I have already sent a thank-you message to the Governor, and I urge you to do the same: [link removed]

Thank you for being an integral part of our community and advocating for positive change,
