Dear John, We have an important deadline coming tomorrow at midnight. At the end of this quarter, we will file financial reports with the Federal Election Commission to show how much we have raised and spent in the last three months. Unfortunately, we are likely to be outraised this quarter by our Democrat opponent. Here's why: our campaign hasn't sent a fundraising email or letter for the past 16 days since President Trump declared a National State of Emergency due to COVID-19. We simply didn't think it was the appropriate time to ask for money for our campaign. So, after canceling more than a dozen in-person fundraising events and not sending out fundraising emails and letters for weeks, we're way behind hitting our goals for this quarter. Our decision was the right thing to do, but it has taken a severe toll on our finances. Meanwhile, our Democrat opponent has been sending out numerous fundraising emails each day - no matter what was happening in our country.
