Dear John, First and foremost, I hope this email finds you and your family safe and healthy. This ‘new normal’ is a challenging time for all of us - and is changing our daily lives dramatically. But I wanted to provide you some updates on the New York Republican Party and our goals moving forward, because we WILL get through this, together. Since I was elected last July, we have worked every day to Rebuild, Retool and Revitalize the Republican Party in the great State of New York. We owe two-party government to the taxpayers of this state and we have taken that message across New York as I personally campaigned and traveled to all 62 counties last year. 2020 will be the year that the comeback starts for New York Republicans. We are laser-focused on making gains in the Assembly and recapturing our strength in the New York State Senate. And as I have personally discussed with President Trump, we will regain the Republican seats in Congress that we lost in 2018. We are incredibly proud of the slate of candidates that have been recruited and put on the ballot last week. Our petition process was cut in half by this crisis, but our grassroots responded like never before to meet the incredible challenges.  We are all navigating the new reality brought to us with the Coronavirus pandemic. "Stay at home", "flattening the curve" and "social distancing" have become everyday phrases. We see our families, friends and neighbors working together like never before to help each other through the sacrifices that we are all making while we are taking care of our loved ones, trying to keep businesses running and educating our children from home. This is the new normal, and we are working hard to find new and creative ways to get our message out and elect more Republicans. We can't organize by knocking on doors in neighborhoods. We can't have volunteers come to our offices. There are no meetings or community events to engage with voters. Fundraising toward our critical end of quarter deadline is challenging. While everyone is struggling with finding a new path and figuring out what this all means for themselves and their families, there is plenty of hope. President Donald Trump has delivered a stimulus package to stabilize industries, offer small business relief, and provide cash for families. They have fast-tracked a trial for a Coronavirus treatment and more tests are becoming available. While we continue to work together as a community to get through this unprecedented period, we must continue to prepare to fight for our Republican values in November.
