Dear Neighbor, I hope you are well! I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on several happenings in the district as well as Harrisburg.

Harrisburg Updates

While Budget hearings may be over, I will be back in Harrisburg next week for Session! It’s been a few months since the House last held Session and I’m excited to get back to vote on the bills and resolutions that matter most to you. I’ll keep you updated with the bills that come before us and any other business in committee hearings.

There will also be a few local visitors next week in the Capitol! I’m excited to welcome the Skyview Orchestra from Methacton School District and one of Spring-Ford’s orchestras next week to perform as part of the PA Music Educators Association’s Music in our Schools Month Celebration.

Spring-Ford Art Show

If you’ve stopped by my office recently you might have seen some beautiful artwork from the students at Spring-Ford High School. Last night we held an art show to celebrate the students’ art and discuss the importance of investing in public education and the arts. We had students, parents, families in attendance, as well as the Spring-Ford art teacher Chad Strickler who helped coordinate the event. We were also fortunate enough to have Spring-Ford orchestra students and their Orchestra Director Emily McGranahan attend and play music for us throughout the evening.

I also want to thank Spring-Ford School Board Members Karen Weingarten and Dr. Maggie Wright for stopping by to support their students, as well as Cathy Krause and Jean Lare from the Spring-Ford Educational Foundation, plus my colleague Rep. Paul Friel who also represents Spring-Ford School District in Harrisburg with me. Thank you to Upper Providence Supervisors Helene Calci and Kelly Stevens for their support, along with Professor Meghan Tierney from Ursinus College.

The art will remain in my office for a few more weeks before going back to Spring-Ford for their Art Show. Make sure to stop by soon and check out the art!

Women Veterans Health & Wellness Event

Next Friday, March 22 the Coatesville VA Medical Center will be holding their second Women Veterans Health and Wellness Fair at the Montgomery County Community College Health and Science Center at 340 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422. Stop by to speak with professionals and find resources that may be helpful. Please RSVP to Shardae Wescott at (484) 744-3269.
