The New York Times relies on an outdated “both sides” model of coverage that focuses on the political horse race and helps their bottom line. But this coverage normalizes Trump and ignores that he’s a threat to our democracy.

Now, Salon is calling them out, publishing an article saying “there is something wrong at the New York Times,” and that “things aren’t adding up.”

As 2024 election coverage ramps up, the New York Times has revealed some major issues in its ranks: most notably, a pro-Trump bias.

The outlet has relentlessly covered President Biden’s age, but has mostly ignored the question when it comes to Donald Trump (that was true last week, when Trump called Biden Obama for the third time since November).

The day after that, the New York Times blared a headline that suggested, matter of factly, that Biden was behind Trump in their latest poll because voters think Biden is too old.

We’ve seen this story before. Sensational, both sides coverage is exactly what propelled Donald Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton in 2016, John.
