Dear Georgian,

President Biden has consistently made disastrous policy decisions that have put our national and global security at risk. He is directly responsible for the crisis at our southern border.

Last week, he announced that he is asking our military to build a port in Gaza, which means sending U.S. soldiers to a territory that is controlled by Hamas. He has chosen not to listen to our military leaders for his entire Presidency, and he failed to take accountability for his actions during the State of the Union address.

As always, my staff and I are here to help. If you need assistance with a federal agency or have comments or concerns to share with me, please do not hesitate to call my Warner Robins, Tifton, or Washington, D.C. offices. Sincerely,

Passing Bipartisan Border Legislation

On the same day President Biden delivered his State of the Union address, the House passed the Laken Riley Act, which requires ICE to arrest illegal immigrants who commit theft offenses and mandates that these immigrants are detained until they are removed from the country so they cannot re-offend and continue to victimize Americans.

I cosponsored and voted for this bipartisan legislation, which passed the House by a vote of 251-170. Even Democrats cannot deny the dangerous consequences of Biden's open border policies.

This legislation also ensures that states have the standing to bring civil action against open-border federal officials who refuse to enforce immigration law or violate the law to the detriment of Americans.

Meeting with U.S. Peanut Federation and Southern Cotton Growers

Agriculture is Georgia's number one industry, and peanuts and cotton are staples in our rural communities.

I met with the U.S. Peanut Federation and Southern Cotton Growers to hear their concerns about rising input costs ahead of the upcoming Farm Bill.

As Vice Chair of the House Agriculture Committee, I know that our farmers must have the resources they need to continue producing the food and fiber we depend on. I am working to ensure that the Farm Bill supports our farmers who need it most.

Atlanta Journal Constitution | 'US House passes Laken Riley Act requiring ICE to detain more immigrants

"The U.S. House on Thursday approved legislation named after a nursing student killed in Athens that would require federal immigration agents to lock up people in the country illegally who have been accused of theft or shoplifting.

The Laken Riley Act was approved in a bipartisan vote of 251-170. Thirty-seven Democrats joined with Republicans to sign off on the measure, which now heads to the Senate where it is unlikely to gain traction with Democrats in charge.

Georgia’s delegation split strictly along party lines with all nine GOP members in favor and the five Democrats opposed.
