Biden's Disastrous State of the Union
Thursday, Joe Biden addressed the American people in his final State of the Union, dismissing the painful reality that hardworking families and small business owners across the country know all too well. Under his failed leadership, America is less safe, less prosperous and less respected than perhaps any other time in our nation's history. Biden sees his administration’s failures as progress, but the truth is our nation is more divided and fragile than ever before. Our communities and the wellbeing of Main Street America come second to illegal immigrants and foreign countries. During his address, Biden chose to blame President Trump and House Republicans while doubling down on his lies. His address was a slap in the face to the American people. Read my full release here.
Cosponsored the Laken Riley Act
I was proud to cosponsor the Laken Riley Act, passed in the House. Laken Riley’s murder is another tragic example of Biden's deadly open border policies. Under Joe Biden, American lives come second to illegal immigrants. This crucial legislation denounces deadly open-border policies and urges Biden to end catch and release, increase immigration enforcement, reinstate Trump’s successful ‘Remain in Mexico' policies, and end the abuse of parole authority. Now more than ever, we must put American lives first and secure our nation from this deadly invasion.
Standing for Main Street America
The House Passed H.R. 2799, the Expanding Access to Capital Act. This commonsense legislation is critical for long-term, sustainable economic growth by strengthening our public markets, helping small businesses and entrepreneurs, and increasing opportunity for all investors. I am proud to stand with Main Street to fight back against the Biden Administration’s ever growing regulations. Watch my floor remarks here.
Holding COVID Fraudsters Accountable
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the SBA took on an oversized role in the delivery of pandemic assistance when American entrepreneurs were in great need. Now that the pandemic is over, we have been seeing the after-action reports. Unfortunately, the Inspector General and other government watchdogs discovered there were hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars stolen by fraudsters. As Chairman, I am committed to evaluating not just how the SBA handled the previous pandemic, but also what role they should be playing in the future. It is time to open the hood and fix what failed the American taxpayers. Watch my opening statement here.
SCOTUS Stands With President Trump
The left has gone to extreme lengths to suppress the will of the American people and keep Trump off the ballot. This week, the Supreme Court unanimously upheld their duty to the American people and set a precedent to save democracy and protect candidates the left disagrees with from baseless attacks. President Trump is on the ballot.
Visited With Tim Tebow
This week, Tim Tebow testified before the House Judiciary Committee on behalf of the voiceless. I am thankful for all that he does to combat child trafficking.
Met With the Tarrant County Food Bank
I met with leaders of the Tarrant County food bank in my D.C. office to discuss the important work they do for our community serving those in need and ways I can help in Congress. I am thankful for their selfless work helping Texans!
In God we trust,
